The symposium will be held on the facilities of UFPA (Universidade Federal do Pará), in the city of Belém, capital of the state of Pará and major city of the North coast of Brazil.
The symposium will take place in early November, during the dry season. Rain is rare and the weather conditions are pleasant, which will make it possible to organise excursions to discover the fascinating landscapes of the Amazon.

The Benedito Nunes conference hall can seat nearly 1,000 people, ideal for plenary sessions. Adjacent facilities will host an exhibition as well as lunch and coffee breaks. Several nearby amphitheatres will be used for parallel sessions.
The coastal Amazon
Before and after the symposium, tours of various durations and destinations will be proposed to discover the beauty of the coastal Amazon : mangroves and beaches on the Marajó Island and other places around Belém.
