GeoTech4Frontiers Track – LAGIRS 2025

Innovation, Technological Parks, and Border Security

Overview

One of the most distinctive and strategic components of LAGIRS 2025 was the GeoTech4Frontiers Track, coordinated by Rafael Lemos Paes, Pierre Duquesne and Ulisses Guimarães. Conceived as a dedicated space for dialogue beyond traditional academic boundaries, the initiative established a structured and continuous exchange between academia, government, and industry.

Across its sessions, GeoTech4Frontiers addressed critical themes at the intersection of geotechnologies and territorial governance, including land and maritime borders, environmental surveillance, geospatial intelligence, agricultural monitoring, forest protection, and strategic resource management.

By bringing together representatives from national security institutions, space agencies, federal police, research centers, technology parks, and international scientific organizations, the track fostered a rare convergence of scientific, operational, and policy-oriented perspectives. More than a technical program, it positioned geospatial technologies as key instruments for sustainable development, regional integration, and national sovereignty.
